With its unique recipe, Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin embodies the Mediterranean character and combines classic gin-making techniques with selected botanicals from the Mediterranean region. The focus is on Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary, basil and thyme, whose intense aromas evoke the region’s typical vegetation. Gin Mare is produced using traditional methods, with particular attention paid to the processing of the individual botanical ingredients. The botanicals are carefully macerated and distilled separately, ensuring that their individual characteristics are preserved as precisely as possible. Only then are the individual distillates blended together. This labour-intensive process allows the various Mediterranean components to be precisely balanced and forms an essential foundation for the brand’s distinctive style.


With an ABV of 42.7% in the 0.7-litre bottle, Gin Mare is positioned as a characterful premium gin with a distinctly Mediterranean character. Rather than relying solely on the classic juniper flavour, the recipe deliberately broadens the profile to include aromatic herbs and other Mediterranean botanicals. The combination of individual maceration, separate distillation and Mediterranean herbs is one of the key features of the production process. Gin Mare thus draws on the aromatic world of the Mediterranean and translates it into a modern gin style, which differs from more classic gin bottlings particularly through its herbaceous and spicy character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear.

Nose: Aromatic and Mediterranean, with notes of juniper, rosemary, basil and thyme, as well as fresh, herbaceous undertones.

Palate: Complex and well-balanced with juniper, Mediterranean herbs and spicy notes, accompanied by a pleasantly fresh element.

Finish: Lingering, dry and herb-forward with Mediterranean spice and subtle juniper.

Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin is particularly well-suited to a Mediterranean gin and tonic served with plenty of ice and a high-quality, fairly neutral tonic water, so that the herbal aromas are preserved. Rosemary, basil or a twist of lemon make suitable garnishes, though a sparing use is recommended. Culinary, the gin pairs very well with Mediterranean tapas, olives, grilled vegetables, fish dishes or mild cheeses. Thanks to its distinctively Mediterranean character, it is particularly well-suited to aperitif moments, summer evenings and Mediterranean-inspired cocktail creations.
