The Tement Sauvignon Blanc Trockenbeerenauslese Zieregg 2017 11 % is an exceptional sweet wine from Southern Styria, made from grapes grown in the renowned Zieregg vineyard. The site is one of the most famous vineyards belonging to the Tement winery and is characterised by coral limestone and brown earth. For this single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc Trockenbeerenauslese, small-berried grapes were used, which were able to dry slowly and gently thanks to the interplay of sun and wind. The concentrated berries were carefully harvested by hand and subsequently matured in stainless steel tanks. As a result, despite the high concentration, a precise and clear character takes centre stage.


In its 0.375 l bottle, the Tement Zieregg Trockenbeerenauslese 2017 is a rare dessert wine with remarkable ageing potential. The unique terroir of the Ried Zieregg, with its pure coral limestone, the concentrated Sauvignon Blanc grapes and the ageing in stainless steel create a sweet wine that combines intense fruit with freshness and structure. Tasting Note

In the glass, the Tement Sauvignon Blanc Trockenbeerenauslese Zieregg 2017 displays an intense golden yellow colour. On the nose, concentrated notes of peach jam, tamarind and ethereal acacia honey unfold. On the palate, despite its concentration, the wine is remarkably lively, fresh and crisp, with complex fruit and a precise structure. The finish is intense, lingering and characterised by a remarkable balance of sweetness and freshness.

The Tement Zieregg Trockenbeerenauslese is an excellent accompaniment to cakes and chocolate desserts, whilst its intense fruitiness can also hold its own against rich sweet dishes. Particularly exciting is the pairing with foie gras, where the sweetness and freshness create a delightful contrast to its rich texture. This sweet wine also harmonises superbly with mature cheeses, particularly strong soft cheeses and blue-veined cheeses.
