Taylor’s Fine Ruby Port is a premium port wine from Portugal, prized for its lively fruitiness and intense aromas. Produced by Taylor’s, one of the most renowned port producers with a history dating back to 1692, this Ruby Port embodies the house’s tradition and expertise.

The grapes for this wine come from the Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo regions in the Upper Douro Valley, which are renowned for their excellent conditions for viticulture. After the harvest, the wines are aged for around two years in large oak casks in Taylor’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, which helps them retain their freshness and intense fruity aroma.

With an alcohol content of 20 % vol., this port offers a full-bodied tasting experience that delights connoisseurs and newcomers alike.

Tasting Note

In the glass, Taylor’s Fine Ruby Port displays a brilliant ruby red colour. The bouquet is characterised by intense aromas of ripe blackcurrants and cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of dark plums and red fruit jam. On the palate, it unfolds as a full-bodied wine with soft tannins, with the juicy flavours of black fruits dominating. The finish is long-lasting and harmonious, with a pleasant sweetness that emphasises the wine’s fruity character. ​

This Ruby Port pairs superbly with strong cheeses, particularly mature blue cheeses, as the wine’s sweetness provides an interesting contrast to the saltiness of the cheese. It also pairs well with desserts featuring berries or dark chocolate, with the wine’s fruity and chocolatey notes rounding off the flavour experience. Served as a digestif after a meal, Taylor’s Port Fine Ruby offers a delightful conclusion to a successful meal.

For a special tasting experience, it can be served slightly chilled at a temperature of between 16°C and 18°C. ​
