Dictador BEST OF 1987 APASIONADO Colombian Rum is an outstanding, 30-year-old release from the exclusive ‘Best Of’ range by the renowned Colombian distillery Dictador. This rare edition comes from a single, carefully selected cask and has been bottled at 43% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle. The ‘Apasionado’ variant is characterised by its distinctive sweetness and depth, achieved through a sophisticated ageing process in ex-sherry and ex-port casks.

Dictador is renowned for its Solera methods, combined with traditional column distillation using virgin sugar cane honey, which lends this rum its elegant smoothness and complexity. Each bottle in this limited edition is numbered and represents a genuine collector’s item for connoisseurs of fine, matured rums.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with amber highlights.

Nose: Intense notes of dark caramel, honey, raisins, candied fruit, vanilla and subtle oak spice.

Palate: Velvety and complex, with flavours of dried plums, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, espresso and a hint of orange marmalade.

Finish: Lang, smooth and harmonious, with lingering sweet notes, subtle spice and a hint of leather and tobacco.

The Dictador BEST OF 1987 APASIONADO is a rum for true connoisseurs, best enjoyed neat in a high-quality nosing glass to experience its deep and multifaceted aromas in full intensity. It is an excellent accompaniment to fine dark chocolate, an aromatic espresso or a fine cigar.
