The Writer's Tears is a deep tribute to the Irish whisky style of the last century, and this whisky also pays homage to Ireland’s writers and poets.

George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett are just a few of the world-renowned Irish writers who are said to have drawn inspiration from Irish whisky – particularly when their writing wasn’t going so well. Hence the name: Writer's Tears.

With this whisky, Writer's Tears presents its first single pot still release. This whisky is triple-distilled and initially matured in bourbon casks. To impart an additional, deep-seated aroma, the whisky undergoes a further maturation phase in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Spain and in Florio Marsala hogsheads from Sicily before being bottled. These carefully selected casks lend the whisky exquisite complexity and a rich variety of flavours.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Fruity, with notes of juicy apples and toffee.

Palate: Spicy, rich, notes of toffee and apples.

Finish: Long-lasting.
