The Frescobaldi family has been producing wines for over 700 years, with their vineyards stretching from the south to the north of Tuscany. Castelgiocondo Brunello, regarded as the perfect expression of its Montalcino terroir, is produced through a meticulous selection of grapes from the estate’s own vineyards.

These vineyards, characterised by their ideal altitude, sunny exposure and well-drained soils, provide the perfect conditions for growing the Sangiovese grape variety. Year after year, the Castelgiocondo Brunello shines with its elegant structure, which impresses with both its complexity and its ageing potential. The wine is aged in barriques, which lends it further finesse and maturity.

Thanks to these meticulous processes and ideal conditions, the Frescobaldi family succeeds in producing wines of the highest quality, which are highly regarded both nationally and internationally.

Tasting Note

Ruby red with violet hues. On the nose, typical notes of cherries and raspberries, with a hint of gingerbread spice and caramel. Very juicy, pleasant and fruity on the palate. A light, fresh note comes through. Rounded off with some toasted notes and a long-lasting finish.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.

This wine pairs superbly with Bolognese, cannelloni, lasagne, Neapolitan pizza and saltimbocca. It is also the ideal accompaniment to sardines, rice balls, polenta and pâtés.
