The Edradour Distillery, whose history is as multifaceted as its range, was once even owned by the New York Mafia. Today, it is run by Andrew Symington, the founder of Signatory Vintage. As an independent Highland distillery, it relies on traditional production methods and uses 19th-century equipment to produce handcrafted premium single malts. Its diverse portfolio includes whiskies with exceptional cask finishes, as well as malt whiskies with a smoke level of at least 50 ppm.

The new batch of Ballechin 18 Years Old has been enriched by a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, bringing additional complexity to the maturation process. The long ageing period allows for a successful fusion of intense peaty smoke and spicy woody notes, which defines the character of this Highland single malt. These casks lend the whisky a balanced structure that harmonises the smoky, woody and fruity Elements without overemphasising any individual nuances.

Nose: Smoke, dried apricots, dates, walnuts, caramel.

Palate: Full-bodied, toasted almonds, apples, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting.
