The SOMMOS Varietales Somontano D.O.P. 2022 is a characterful Spanish red wine from the up-and-coming Somontano region in Aragón. This cuvée is made from Syrah, Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes, which thrive in the high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Pyrenees. The calcareous and gravelly soils, combined with the continental climate characterised by hot days and cool nights, lend the grapes a pronounced aromatic profile, power and, at the same time, elegant freshness.


The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and fermented under temperature control. The wine is then aged for several months in oak barrels, which imparts additional depth, spice and structure. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., the SOMMOS Varietales 2022 combines the spice of Syrah, the juicy fruit of Garnacha and the classic elegance of Tempranillo. Tasting Note

In the glass, the SOMMOS Varietales 2022 displays an intense cherry-red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries and plums unfold, accompanied by notes of Mediterranean herbs, vanilla and subtle toasty undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and juicy, with ripe tannins, a spicy depth and a long, harmonious finish in which fruit and oak blend elegantly.

This red wine, made from Syrah, Garnacha and Tempranillo, pairs superbly with hearty meat dishes such as lamb chops, roast beef, game or Mediterranean stews. It is also an ideal accompaniment to spicy hard cheeses or grilled dishes. Served at 16–18 °C, it reveals its full spectrum of flavours.
