The origins of West Cork

The story of West Cork Distillers began in 2003, when friends Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy and John O’Connell founded the distillery in Skibbereen, West Cork. Their shared passion for whiskey and their vision to create an authentic Irish whiskey that reflects the region’s tradition and culture led to the establishment of West Cork Distillers. Today, the brand stands for excellent quality and innovative whiskey varieties that are recognised worldwide.

West Cork Bourbon Cask Matured Irish Whiskey

West Cork Irish Whiskey Bourbon Cask Matured Irish Whiskey is a fine blend of grain (75%) and malt (25%) Irish whiskey, matured in first-fill bourbon casks. It is a smooth and balanced whiskey with notes of malt, lingering sweetness, citrus fruits, apples and nuts. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

West Cork Black Cask Irish Whiskey

West Cork Irish Whiskey is a fine blend of grain (66%) and malt whiskey (34%), which has been matured for three years in first-fill bourbon casks and then refined for a further year in heavily charred bourbon casks. The end result is a wonderfully balanced whiskey with a flavour of vanilla and a lingering sweetness.

West Cork Maritime Range

This unique maritime Irish whiskey range is presented in a bespoke, maritime-shaped bottle and is inspired by the founders and heritage of West Cork Irish Whiskey. The Maritime Range bottle is a masterfully crafted, hand-blown, spherical bottle with an off-centre spout that allows for a smoother pour of the whiskey. The range includes Irish single malt whiskey from rum, port, sherry and virgin oak casks.
