Planteray Rum BARBADOS XO 20th Anniversary is a multi-award-winning premium rum from Barbados, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, in a 0.7-litre bottle presented in a high-quality gift box. This special bottling was originally created to mark the 20th anniversary of Alexandre Gabriel’s tenure as Master Blender. The blend combines selected, exceptionally long-aged 100% Barbados rums from the West Indies Rum Distillery. The process begins with molasses, which is fermented over a period of three to five days. Both twin-column stills and the traditional Old Gregg’s pot still are used during distillation. This yields a variety of distillates, which are then blended to create a complex and distinctive Barbados rum.


A key feature of Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is its meticulous cask management, which combines the rum tradition of Barbados with French savoir-faire. The blend comprises very old rums matured in various casks, including new white oak casks, bourbon casks and Ferrand casks with varying degrees of toasting. The stated dosage is 19 g/l, and the content of volatile components is 210 g/l. Numerous international awards and gold medals underscore the status of this bottling in the premium rum segment. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Intense exotic fruits, ripe banana, candied orange, bourbon vanilla, toasted coconut, tobacco and dark cocoa.

Palate: Full-bodied and elegant with sweet fruit, dark chocolate, creamy caramel and finely balanced spice.

Finish: Very long-lasting, harmonious and complex with notes of fruit, cocoa and spices.

Planteray Rum BARBADOS XO 20th Anniversary is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature or over a large ice cube. Culinary pairings include dark chocolate, crème brûlée, caramelised nuts, grilled banana or desserts featuring coconut and cocoa.
