The double maturation is initially carried out in American white oak casks, which give the whisky notes of vanilla and honey, before it is finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. This second phase brings depth, dark fruit flavours and a gentle spiciness. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden reflections.

Nose: Fruity and smooth - ripe apples, sultanas, sweet sherry, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.

Taste: Full-bodied and balanced, with flavours of dried fruit, honey, cinnamon, light oak and a hint of caramel.

Finish: Langs, soft and slightly spicy with a sweet aftertaste.

This whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water in a nosing glass. It is also ideal as a digestif, especially in combination with fine dark chocolate, baked apple or a mild blue cheese. Aberlour 12 is also a stylish ingredient for classic whisky cocktails such as Rob Roy or Whisky Sour, when an elegant and rounded character is required.
