Chalong Bay HIGH PROOF Rum is a full-bodied Rhum Agricole with an alcohol content of 57 per cent, available in a 0.7-litre bottle, produced by the Chalong Bay Distillery on the Thai island of Phuket. Unlike most rums, this premium rum is not made from molasses but exclusively from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, thus following the traditional method of producing Rhum Agricole. The sugarcane is grown locally, cultivated without chemical additives and harvested by hand. The remaining stages of production are also carried out with meticulous care by hand. The rum is distilled in a traditional copper Armagnac still from France, which lends it a particularly elegant and aromatic character. As Chalong Bay HIGH PROOF is not aged in wooden casks, it retains the unadulterated flavour of fresh sugarcane juice and is ideal for sophisticated cocktails.
