The Teaninich 17 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Release 2017 is an exclusive whisky that reflects the rich history and heritage of the Teaninich Distillery. Captain Hugh Munro and his family made their home at Teaninich Castle, and in 1817 they founded the first legal distillery in Ross-shire. Although the original building and part of Munro Castle have sadly disappeared, the family’s whisky heritage has been preserved over the centuries and is celebrated with this limited-release bottling.

To mark the 200th anniversary of the Teaninich Distillery, this special single malt whisky is being launched, having been matured for 17 years in refilled American white oak hogsheads. The long maturation period results in a complex and profound aroma that perfectly blends both woody and fruity notes. The whisky was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2017, and has an alcohol content of 55.9% ABV, making it a robust yet harmonious whisky.

This Teaninich 17 Years Old is presented in an elegant gift box, making it the perfect gift for whisky lovers or collectors. The limited edition and the special maturation process make this whisky a real highlight of any collection and a meisterwerk from the Teaninich Distillery.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Fruity aromas of plums, dried fruit and a hint of caramel, blending with subtle notes of oak and vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied and powerful with ripe fruit, caramel and a hint of oak and spices, which are brought out to perfection by the long maturation.

Finish: Long and warming, with an elegant oak and fruit finish that fades gently.

The Teaninich 17 Years Old Single Malt is excellent enjoyed neat, particularly at room temperature, to allow the complex flavours to unfold fully. It can also be used as the base for a sophisticated Whisky Sour, Old Fashioned or Rob Roy. This single malt pairs perfectly with mature cheese, dark chocolate or smoked meat, which perfectly complement its fruity and woody notes.
