Ron Izalco 10 Años Rum is an exceptional premium rum, 43 per cent ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle, which brings together the diversity of Central America’s most significant rum-producing regions in a single bottling. This high-quality blend combines selected rums from Nicaragua, Panama, Guyana, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Each individual rum is aged for at least ten years in its country of origin before the distillates are transported to California, where the final blending and bottling take place. The rum is named after the active volcano Izalco in El Salvador, which symbolises strength, character and the volcanic landscape of Central America. It is particularly worth noting that no sugar is added to Ron Izalco 10 Años – the rum is presented in its unadulterated and authentic form.


Ron Izalco 10 Años impresses with a harmonious balance of fruitiness, sweetness and spicy oak ageing. Ripe stone fruits, honey and caramel unfold on the nose, before delicate notes of American oak and sweet pipe tobacco develop on the palate. Its balanced structure and long, elegant finish make this rum, with no added sugar, an excellent choice for enjoying neat.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Apricots, plums, honey, caramel and a hint of brown sugar.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with ripe fruit, caramel, American oak, sweet pipe tobacco and subtle spicy notes.

Finish: Long-lasting with gentle tannins, elegant spice and harmonious rum aromas.

Ron Izalco 10 Años rum is best enjoyed neat or over a large ice cube. It is also excellent in a Rum Old Fashioned or a Rum Manhattan, where its cask-aged character really comes into its own. On the culinary front, this premium rum pairs superbly with dry-aged steak, braised beef cheek, duck breast, mature Gouda, Manchego, dark chocolate, pecan cake, crème brûlée, banana tart, toasted walnuts or dried apricots, whose sweet and spicy flavours perfectly complement the rum’s complex character.
