Come Hell or High Water XO Rum is a complex, premium rum blend that combines selected distillates from four regions with a long tradition of rum-making. The blend is crafted using hand-selected pot-still and column-still rums from Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana. The different distillation methods allow for a complex blend of powerful, aromatic rum components and lighter, more elegant distillates. The rums used are aged for up to 15 years in American oak casks that previously held bourbon. During this ageing period, distinct notes of wood, spice and fruit develop, defining the mature character of the XO blend. The careful selection of rums from different countries of origin forms the basis for the distinctive style of this bottling.

The Come Hell or High Water XO is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume in a 0.7-litre bottle and, in this version, is presented in a striking black gift box. The high-quality presentation emphasises its positioning as a sipping rum and makes the bottling an attractive gift option. In terms of sugar content, the rum complies with current EU requirements for the rum category, which limit the permitted sweetening of the finished product. The focus is therefore on the matured distillates from Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana, whose individual characteristics are brought together in the blend.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany with golden highlights.

Nose: Intense and complex with strong notes of sugar cane, distinctive hints of esters and damp oak, accompanied by nuances of ripe fruit.

Palate: Smooth and full-bodied with ripe tropical fruits, brown sugar and warm baking spices, underpinned by soft tannins and mature wood notes.

Finish: Long-lasting and harmonious with tropical fruit, spicy nuances and a subtle oak aftertaste.

Come Hell or High Water XO Rum is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C or over a large ice cube. It pairs well with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, roasted nuts, caramelised banana or pineapple, as well as desserts featuring brown sugar and warm spices. Mature hard cheese also provides an interesting contrast to the fruity, spicy and woody notes. Thanks to its black gift box, long ageing process and the blend of rums from various origins, the XO also makes an excellent gift for rum enthusiasts.
