O'Donnell Moonshine BLUTORANGE Liqueur captures the distinctive flavour of deep-red blood oranges in a fresh, fruity liqueur with an alcohol content of 20 per cent. Inspired by the sun-kissed blood oranges of Sicily, the recipe combines intense citrus fruit with a delicate sweetness, subtle tart notes and a hint of berry. This results in a balanced profile where the typical freshness of the orange takes centre stage, without the liqueur being dominated solely by sweetness. O'Donnell Moonshine Blood Orange is produced in Germany and contains no artificial flavours or colourings. Furthermore, the recipe is vegan.

As is characteristic of O'Donnell Moonshine, the Blood Orange is also presented in a distinctive Mason jar rather than a conventional spirits bottle. The preserving jar design draws on the American moonshine tradition and evokes the era of Prohibition in the USA, when illegally produced spirits were often stored in such jars. The 0.7-litre Mason jar combines this historic style with a modern, summery liqueur creation. O'Donnell Moonshine Blood Orange Liqueur is particularly well suited to simple summer cocktails and long drinks. For a blood orange spritz, serve around 4 cl of blood orange liqueur with well-chilled Prosecco and a splash of soda water over plenty of ice. A fresher, slightly more tart variation can be made with tonic water and a slice of orange, whilst the liqueur can also be served neat over crushed ice. Thanks to its fruity, tangy character, it also pairs well with light desserts, vanilla ice cream or dark chocolate, as well as at garden parties and summer aperitif gatherings.
