Rick Caribbean XO 8 Years Old Smooth Rum 40% is a molasses-based Caribbean rum, blended from carefully selected matured and younger rums. The individual components are distilled using the column still method and then aged in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak. The age statement of 8 years reflects the maturity of this XO bottling, whilst the blending of components aged to varying degrees ensures a balanced and approachable overall profile. The combination of molasses as the raw material, continuous distillation and American oak results in a rum with a classic Caribbean character, where soft cask notes and the natural richness of the sugar cane distillate take centre stage.

With an alcohol content of 40 per cent, the Rick Caribbean XO 8 Years Old is deliberately smooth and pleasantly approachable. Maturation in ex-bourbon casks imbues the rum with typical vanilla, spice and woody nuances, whilst the blending adds further depth and balance. This smooth rum is bottled in a 0.5-litre bottle and comes with a gift box. This rum also makes an excellent accompaniment to mature cheeses or caramelised fruits.
