Hayman's of London VIBRANT CITRUS GIN is an expressive English citrus gin that combines classic juniper character with a particularly vibrant selection of exotic citrus fruits. It is based on the Hayman family’s time-honoured gin-making tradition, which dates back to 1863. For this bottling, sun-dried peel from pomelo, Persian lime, mandarin and kumquat is distilled together with the classic Hayman’s botanicals. The fruit peels are gently dried to preserve the aromatic oils as much as possible. No additional flavourings are added, so the distinctive citrus character comes directly from the botanicals used. It is produced in London using Hayman’s characteristic two-day distillation process.

With an alcohol content of 41.1 per cent, Hayman’s Vibrant Citrus Gin combines a distinct juniper base with the freshness and complexity of its four additional citrus botanicals. The link to the family’s history is particularly fitting, as Hayman’s points out that the family has been using citrus fruits as key botanicals in gin production for over 160 years. Unlike a gin that is flavoured after distillation, kumquat, pomelo, Persian lime and mandarin are distilled directly into the spirit, resulting in a natural and clearly defined citrus character. As such, this 0.7-litre bottle from England offers a modern interpretation of the traditional Hayman’s style and is particularly well-suited to classic gin drinks that call for an intense citrus component, whilst still being underpinned by juniper.

The gin also pairs well with a Martini, Gin & Soda or Citrus Sour, as its distilled citrus botanicals really come into their own in these drinks. It pairs well with light dishes such as seafood, summer salads or mild starters. It is best served well chilled or in cocktails with plenty of ice.
