They operate five artisanal distilleries, each equipped with 12 copper pot stills – a symbol of the distillery’s craftsmanship and long-standing tradition. Each of these distilleries represents a family member, and there is also a special copper steam still for each grandchild, reflecting the family’s enduring passion for distillation.

The Nonino Riserva Antica Cuvée 5 Years Old Cask Strength Grappa is produced from the pomace of Cabernet, Merlot and Schioppettino grapes, which are distilled in the copper steam stills. After distillation, the grappa is aged for between 5 and 20 years in barrique casks, allowing it to develop greater complexity and a unique aroma. The grappa is bottled at cask strength, with no added colourings, giving it an unadulterated purity and a robust yet balanced intensity. With an impressive alcohol content of 59.9% vol., this grappa is a true meisterwerk of the art of distillation that will delight both grappa enthusiasts and connoisseurs of exclusive spirits alike.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Intense aromas of vanilla, toasted wood, dried fruit and a gentle spiciness, accompanied by a subtle fruitiness.

Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, with complex notes of dried fruit, oak, a delicate sweetness and a hint of spice.

Finish: Lang and warm, with an intense, slightly sweet oak and fruit note that fades gently.

The Nonino Grappa Riserva Antica Cuvée 5 Years Old Cask Strength is ideal for enjoying neat, particularly after a fine dinner. It pairs perfectly with dark chocolate, fine cheeses such as Pecorino or a strong blue cheese. This grappa also pairs superbly with desserts such as crème brûlée or tarte Tatin.
