The Glenlivet 13 Years Old First Fill American Oak is a 13-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, which combines the typically smooth and fruity style of the historic The Glenlivet Distillery with a distinct influence of American oak. First-fill American oak casks are used for this bottling, imparting additional sweetness, vanilla and oak notes to the whisky during its long maturation period. The Glenlivet 13 Years Old was originally developed specifically for the French market, but the expression is now also available in other European markets. With an alcohol content of 40 per cent, this Speyside single malt is deliberately accessible and is aimed particularly at lovers of a smooth and sweet-tasting whisky style.


The Glenlivet Distillery is situated in the valley of the River Livet in Scotland’s Speyside region and looks back on a history closely linked to the distillery’s founder, George Smith. With the 13 Years Old First Fill American Oak, the focus is not only on the age statement but, above all, on the selection of casks. The use of selected American oak casks for the first time in Scotch whisky production results in a more intense oaky influence than with casks that have been re-used multiple times, and enhances the bottling’s characteristic style. Nose: Delicate honey and sweet toffee combine with distinctive hints of toasted oak.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and sweet, with a subtle, lingering hint of oaky spice.

The Glenlivet 13 Years Old First Fill American Oak is particularly recommended for enjoying neat at room temperature, although a few drops of still water can bring out additional fruity notes.
