The Balvenie 25 Years The Rare Marriages Collection is an exceptional whisky from the historic Balvenie Distillery, which has been producing high-quality whisky since 1892. Matured for 25 years, this whisky showcases the distillery’s mastery and embodies the complexity and depth that can only be achieved through long maturation in American and European oak casks.

To this day, Balvenie Distillery preserves many traditional methods in its production process. For instance, the barley is still grown on site, and the distillery uses a traditional malting floor – a rare practice in modern whisky production. Furthermore, Balvenie employs its own team of coopers, who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the casks to ensure optimum quality throughout the entire maturation process. This dedication to craftsmanship is reflected in every drop of this exquisite whisky.

The Rare Marriages Collection is a series of whiskies in which Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE carefully blends casks to create the most complex and balanced flavours. The 25-year-old expression achieves a unique character that showcases Balvenie’s signature flavours: rich vanilla notes, crystallised ginger and sweet honey, which blend harmoniously to create a deep, rich flavour.

The design of the gift box was deliberately chosen to reflect the character and maturation process of the whisky: The ombré shading symbolises the unfolding of the flavours over time, whilst the golden rings emphasise the long maturation period and the cherished traditions embodied in this whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Complex aromas of vanilla, candied ginger, honey and a gentle oakiness that introduce the whisky.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, with notes of ripe vanilla, fruity honey, candied ginger and a pleasant oakiness that recedes into the background and complements the fruitiness.

Finish: Long and harmonious, with a gentle sweetness and a mild oak presence that fades elegantly.

The Balvenie 25 Years The Rare Marriages Collection is ideal for enjoying neat, to fully experience its multi-layered flavours. It pairs perfectly with mature cheeses such as Comté or Brie and harmonises superbly with dark chocolate or nuts. As an after-dinner drink, this whisky can be enjoyed with coffee-based desserts such as tiramisu or crème brûlée. For a particularly intense tasting experience, it can also be paired with a fine cigar to further enhance the whisky’s flavours.
