Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve 12% ABV 0.75 l online kaufen
Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve 12 % vol. is an exceptional champagne from France that embodies the distinctive style of one of the most traditional champagne houses. Charles Heidsieck was founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, who set out on his own in Champagne at the age of just 29. Today, the Brut Réserve is regarded as the house’s signature cuvée, blending 40 per cent Pinot Noir, 40 per cent Chardonnay and 20 per cent Meunier. The grapes come from around 60 selected vineyard sites, with the renowned crus of Oger, Ambonnay and Verneuil playing a particularly important role. They form the basis for a sophisticated champagne that combines the time-honoured art of winemaking in Champagne with a distinctive style.
A distinctive feature of Charles Heidsieck Champagne Brut Réserve is the exceptionally high proportion – 50 per cent – of reserve wines, which contributes significantly to the cuvée’s characteristic signature. The base wines are vinified separately according to origin and grape variety, predominantly in stainless steel tanks, whilst 5–10 per cent are aged in used Burgundy barrels. The champagne then develops its distinctive complexity whilst maturing in the house’s historic chalk cellars. With an alcohol content of 12 per cent in the 0.75-litre bottle, this French brut champagne is a stylish choice for festive occasions, sophisticated dinners and special moments of indulgence.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve displays a deep golden-yellow colour with a particularly fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, a complex bouquet unfolds, featuring freshly baked brioche, delicate toasted notes and sun-ripened fruits such as mango, apricot and mirabelle plum, accompanied by toasted pistachios, almonds and subtle hints of dried fruit. On the palate, the champagne is generous and supple, with a creamy texture, juicy plums and cherries, and a delicate structure reminiscent of crunchy nougat. The finish is long-lasting and elegant, with seductive nuances of vanilla, amber and delicate praline.
The Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve is ideal as an elegant aperitif and a versatile accompaniment to sophisticated menus. It pairs particularly well with pan-fried scallops, lobster and turbot in a delicate butter sauce, whose delicate flavours complement its smooth texture wonderfully. This French champagne also makes an excellent accompaniment to roast corn-fed chicken, creamy mushroom risotto or mature Comté. It is also particularly delightful when paired with a mild poultry terrine or delicate starters featuring toasted nuts. Served at a temperature of around 10–12 °C, preferably in a generous champagne or white wine glass, it reveals its complex bouquet to great effect.
