The Jura 14 Years Old American Rye Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional release from the Isle of Jura Distillery, which is renowned for its unique and smooth single malts. This 14-year-old variant stands out in particular due to its finish in American rye casks, which gives the whisky an exciting balance of sweet spice and tropical fruit notes.
This single malt is initially matured in American ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to former rye whisky casks from the USA for its final maturation. This choice of casks lends it a distinctive depth, combining soft vanilla sweetness, a spicy rye character and fruity citrus notes.
With an alcohol content of 40% vol., this whisky remains pleasantly mild and approachable, yet still offers a complex and multi-layered flavour profile.
