Lochlea HARVEST EDITION Second Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% ABV, 0.7 litres, in a gift box

The Lochlea Distillery is an independent single malt distillery based at Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, near Glasgow in the Lowlands. The old farm has been converted into a distillery with a bonded warehouse. The distillery commenced operations in August 2018.

John Campbell, the former manager of the Laphroaig Distillery, runs the family-owned business. The Scottish poet Robert Burns lived on and managed the farm from 1777 to 1784.

The barley used in production is grown and harvested on-site. The water is drawn from limestone springs deep beneath the distillery. This ensures full traceability from field to bottle.

Lochlea Harvest Edition (Second Crop) is the second release in the Harvest Edition series. The blending of port casks, first-fill bourbon casks and STR barriques creates a taste experience that is second to none. Particularly noteworthy is the significantly higher proportion of port casks, which lends the whisky an unrivalled creaminess.

Tasting Note

Colour: Copper.

Nose: Ripe red grapes, dates, fruit jam.

Palate: Dried fruit, pink pepper.

Finish: Long-lasting, creamy.
