Balvenie STORIES 19 Years Old: A Revelation of Cask and Character, 47.5% ABV, 0.7 litres in a gift box

The Balvenie Distillery, which has been producing high-quality whisky since 1892, still preserves many traditional methods in its production process to this day. For example, the barley is still grown on site, and the distillery uses a traditional malting floor – a rarity in the modern whisky industry. Furthermore, Balvenie employs its own team of coopers, who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the casks to ensure optimum quality throughout the entire maturation process.

The Balvenie STORIES release, ‘A Revelation of Cask and Character’, is the first whisky to be created under the sole responsibility of Kelsie McKechnie, the new Malt Master at Balvenie. This special whisky, which has been matured entirely in sherry casks, is unique within the range. After six years of training under David C. Stewart MBE, McKechnie has created and proudly signed her first expression.

The packaging is adorned with an illustration by British artist Andy Lovell, depicting the Balvenie Distillery’s cooperage and capturing the atmosphere of the distillery.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Intense notes of ripe fruit, caramelised orange peel, toasted oak and ground barley.

Palate: Fresh redcurrants, ripe cherries and figs, raisins.

Finish: Long-lasting, creamy, with nutty notes.
