The Heinrich Zweigelt is a red wine full of character from the renowned Austrian Weingut Heinrich, based in Gols, in the sun-drenched Burgenland region. Gernot Heinrich is one of Austria’s most respected winemakers and enjoys an international reputation for his biodynamic approach, sustainable philosophy and expressive wines. The vines grow on carefully tended Lager around Gols, where a unique combination of loamy-sandy soils, optimal climatic conditions and sustainable viticulture ensures exceptional quality.

Carefully hand-picked Zweigelt grapes are used to produce this authentic red wine, which, following gentle vinification and traditional ageing in used wooden barrels, develops its elegant structure and pleasant drinkability. The Heinrich Zweigelt 2019 impresses with a harmonious balance of fruit, depth and a silky texture.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Heinrich Zweigelt displays an intense ruby red colour with dark, violet highlights. On the nose, it delights with fruity and spicy notes of fresh cherries, ripe wild berries and plums, accompanied by elegant hints of subtle herbs, pepper and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, velvety-smooth and well-balanced, characterised by soft tannins and lively acidity. Its finish is harmonious, fruit-driven and slightly spicy, with a pleasant length.
