Colorado is undeniably experiencing a new boom in the whisky distilling industry. Boulder Spirits, based at the Vapor Distillery in Boulder, Colorado, stands out as the first distillery to openly acknowledge its small size, whilst more than making up for this with the largest still in the state.

The use of wine casks to mature European whiskies has a long tradition, whilst this approach represents a more recent innovation in American whisky production. In its quest to create exceptional flavours, Vapor Distillery has recognised that the integration of deep, dark fruit notes complements the character of its rich and vibrant single malt whisky perfectly.

The whisky is first aged for three years in newly charred American oak casks. It is then further refined for nine months in Ruby Port casks, which lend it an enhanced dimension of flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Rhubarb, cherries, allspice, fruit cake.

Palate: Allspice, fruit, woody notes.

Finish: Long-lasting.
