The Aberlour A'BUNADH ALBA Original Cask Strength Batch No. 008 is a powerful Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that embodies a distinctive style within the A'Bunadh range. Whilst the classic A’Bunadh is best known for its intense sherry cask character, A’Bunadh Alba focuses on maturation in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks. The name ‘Alba’ refers both to Scotland and to the American white oak used. The whisky is produced at the historic Aberlour Distillery in Speyside, whose history dates back to the 19th century. The bottling carries no age statement and is released in individual, numbered batches, each bottled at its own cask strength.

In the case of Batch No. 008, this impressive original cask strength is 60.1 per cent. The whisky is therefore bottled without dilution to a conventional drinking strength in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. Tasting Note

Colour: Pale to deep gold.

Nose: Intense, with vanilla, ripe apples and citrus fruits, accompanied by honey, coconut and spicy American oak.

Palate: Powerful and concentrated with creamy vanilla, sweet fruit and honey, complemented by spices, coconut and distinctive oak.

Finish: Long-lasting, robust and warming, with vanilla, fruit, spices and increasingly dry oak notes.

Due to its high cask strength of 60.1 per cent, the Aberlour A’BUNADH ALBA Batch No. 008 is particularly suited to slow, neat enjoyment, although a few drops of still water are recommended. This allows you to adjust the strength to your personal preference and further unlock the intense bourbon cask aromas. It pairs well with roasted nuts, strong hard cheeses, vanilla desserts or dark chocolate.
