Since 1999, the Slyrs Distillery has been producing the first and only Upper Bavarian single malt whisky, distilled using the traditional ‘Rau’ and ‘Fein’ methods. The name ‘Slyrs’ is a pseudo-Gaelic variation of ‘Schliersee’, the distillery’s home town, and reflects the regional ties and traditional craftsmanship that are expressed in every drop of this whisky.

The Slyrs DISTILLERS CHOICE Amontillado Cask is the fifth edition in the exclusive Distillers Choice series and a strictly limited-edition single malt whisky. Distilled in 2014 using traditional methods, this fine whisky was matured for 11 years in a single Amontillado sherry cask, giving it its exceptional depth and complexity. With a robust alcohol content of 51.5% ABV, this whisky was carefully selected by Slyrs Head of Brand Experience and Keeper of the Quaich, Helmut Knöpfle, in close collaboration with the cask management team.

The influence of the Amontillado cask lends this whisky a harmonious blend of Slyrs’s characteristic fruitiness and the spicy, nutty aromas of the matured sherry. Its balanced structure makes it a special treat for connoisseurs and lovers of complex single malts.
