Del Professore Gin À La Madame is an elegant and complex gin from Italy, produced with artisanal care in limited batches. It comes from Antica Distilleria Quaglia in Piedmont, a distillery with a long tradition that is also behind the renowned products in the Del Professore range. This gin bears the nickname ‘À La Madame’ because it boasts a particularly floral, finely balanced flavour profile – very much in the style of a smooth, feminine gin.

Made from a grain spirit of agricultural origin, the gin is macerated with a variety of carefully selected botanicals, including juniper, cinnamon, vanilla, mugwort, citrus fruits, camomile, lavender and other Mediterranean herbs. The result is a full-bodied yet harmonious gin with a subtle sweetness and pronounced floral depth. It is produced in small batches – without industrial filtration – which gives the gin its distinctive character and its golden, slightly cloudy colour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with natural cloudiness.

Nose: Floral and spicy with lavender, camomile, juniper, orange zest and vanilla.

Palate: Complex and smooth with floral notes, delicate sweetness, herbs, spices and subtle citrus hints.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and multi-layered with balsamic spice and a hint of herbs.

Del Professore Gin À La Madame is the perfect accompaniment to antipasti with pickled vegetables, savoury quiches, goat’s cheese with honey or fruity salads with a citrus dressing. It also brings out its floral notes to perfection when paired with sweeter elements such as orange curd, meringue desserts or fine white chocolate with lavender. Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks as an aperitif to bring out its multi-layered flavour profile. It’s also excellent for creative cocktails with a floral or Mediterranean theme – such as a Gin Sour with lavender syrup, in a classic Martini, or with dry tonic water and a twist of orange peel as a garnish.
