The Douglas Laing Scallywag The Gipfelgruß is an exclusive limited edition from the popular Scallywag range, renowned for its intensely aromatic Speyside malts. With an alcohol content of 48% vol., bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle, this special release is aimed at connoisseurs and collectors alike.


It is particularly worth noting that the Scallywag The Gipfelgruß has been matured 100 per cent in sherry casks. This cask selection lends the whisky an impressive depth, rich fruitiness and a delicate sweetness that define the character of this edition. Furthermore, the whisky is bottled without chill filtration, which preserves its natural complexity and full body. Strictly limited to just 600 bottles, it is a highly sought-after collector’s item and a real highlight of the range.


The blend is based on selected single malts from Speyside, a region renowned for its fruity and sherry-influenced whiskies. Douglas Laing combines hand-selected casks here, lending this whisky a perfect balance of dark fruits, chocolate and spicy oak notes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Rich, with notes of raisins, red berries, vanilla and dark chocolate.

Palate: Full-bodied and sweet-spicy with notes of sherry, caramel, cocoa, dried fruit and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and elegant with a chocolatey, fruity aftertaste.
