Old Barco De Cargas XO Gran Reserva is an elegant premium rum that reflects the long tradition of Caribbean rum culture. Sugar cane and rum were among the most important export goods shipped from the West Indies to Europe. This rum builds on this historical legacy and combines it with modern ageing techniques.


Old Barco De Cargas has been matured for many years in American white oak casks that were previously used for ageing bourbon. This cask maturation lends it an unmistakable depth and enriches its flavour profile with a delicate, syrupy sweetness and pronounced vanilla notes. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is a particularly smooth and harmonious rum with intense aromas.


Its character is defined by notes of molasses, dark chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla, setting it apart from classic standard bottlings. As an XO Gran Reserva, it epitomises long maturation periods and the balance between sweetness, spice and velvety smoothness – a rum that impresses both neat and in cocktails.
