The Wolfburn 8 Years Old NORTHLAND Quarter Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% vol. 0.7 l + GB is an authentic Highland whisky from the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland – Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness. Distilled with great artisanal care, this 8-year-old single malt embodies the characteristic blend of the rugged coastal landscape and the pure craftsmanship of the Highlands. Maturation in selected quarter casks – smaller casks that allow for more intensive maturation – results in a particularly full-bodied and deep flavour profile.


The carefully selected casks lend this Wolfburn Northland Quarter Cask its sweet, malty foundation, combined with a subtle spiciness and delicate peaty notes. This expression is bottled unfiltered and without colouring to preserve the whisky’s natural aromas in their purest form. The result is a harmonious single malt with a remarkable balance between sweetness, fruitiness and gentle smoke. At 46 per cent, it offers the ideal balance of strength, character and approachability. The elegant packaging, featuring the gold-and-black sea wolf emblem, emphasises the distillery’s maritime heritage and philosophy – whisky in its purest form.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with warm amber highlights.

Nose: Sweet with fruity notes, a fresh sea breeze, citrus freshness, grain and a hint of peaty smoke.

Palate: Sweet and nutty with hints of grapes, honey, floral notes, dried fruit and delicate spice.

Finish: Smooth, sweet and long-lasting with toffee, honey and a hint of gentle smoke.

The Wolfburn 8 Years Old Northland Quarter Cask pairs superbly with grilled salmon, smoked ham or mature cheeses such as Cheddar or Gruyère. It also pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, caramel desserts or roasted nuts, which perfectly complement its sweet, spicy flavours. As a digestif, it offers a wonderful taste experience when enjoyed with a mild cigar or a strong espresso.
