Ron Centenario EDICIÓN LIMITADA 30 Aniversario Rum 40% Vol. is one of the particularly long-aged bottlings from the long-established Ron Centenario distillery in Costa Rica. The long history of sugar cane cultivation in Costa Rica forms the basis for a rum style characterised by a smooth texture, tropical fruit and intense cask maturation. For this limited-edition Centenario release, long-aged rums are blended using the Solera method, incorporating particularly old components that have been aged for up to 30 years. Maturation takes place in white oak casks as well as sherry and muscatel casks, whose varying influences lend the rum additional depth and aromatic complexity. The result is a complex blend of wood, vanilla, ripe fruit and spicy notes.


At 40% ABV, Ron Centenario 30 Aniversario Edición Limitada is full-bodied yet exceptionally smooth. Creamy vanilla, caramel toffee and roasted coffee combine with tropical fruits, marzipan, herbs and toasted oak to create a harmonious overall profile. It is precisely the combination of many years of Solera ageing, various cask types and Costa Rica’s warm climate that gives this premium rum from Costa Rica its rich and elegant character. In the 0.7-litre bottle, the Ron Centenario Edición Limitada 30 represents a particularly mature expression from the house, in which sweet, fruity and spicy notes are carefully balanced, with the long cask ageing clearly taking centre stage.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep, gleaming amber.

Nose: Full-bodied with oak, creamy vanilla and tropical fruits, complemented by sugar cane, freshly roasted coffee, marzipan and subtle herbal notes.

Palate: Full-bodied, spicy and very smooth with caramel toffee, bourbon vanilla and coffee, harmoniously blended with tropical fruits and toasted oak.

Finish: Long-lasting and spicy with recurring notes of fruit, vanilla and wood.

The Ron Centenario 30 Aniversario best reveals its long-matured cask character when enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing glass. Dark chocolate, roasted nuts or mature hard cheese pair particularly well with its sweet and spicy profile. Caramel desserts, marzipan, banana-based desserts or coffee-flavoured pastries also complement the vanilla, fruit and toasted aromas beautifully. Allowing the rum to rest in the glass for a few minutes helps the complex influences of the sherry, Moscatel and white oak casks to unfold gradually.
