The Schwarz ROT Zweigelt is made from 100% Zweigelt and is aged for 16 months, 50% of which is in new barriques and 50% in used Burgundy barrels. With an alcohol content of 13.5 per cent, the 2023 vintage is powerful, yet balanced and precisely structured. The style is designed for longevity and development, demonstrating the potential inherent in this grape variety. Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a dark ruby-garnet colour with violet highlights and a delicate lightening at the rim. On the nose, a multi-layered bouquet unfolds, featuring dark wild berries, sour cherries and violets, accompanied by subtle herbal notes, hints of blackberry and a touch of cardamom. On the palate, it is juicy and elegant with good complexity, finely integrated tannins and a fresh structure. The finish reveals distinct notes of heart cherry, long-lasting and precise.
