Botran INFINITO Ron de Guatemala 43% is an exceptional limited edition with which the long-established Botran distillery pays tribute to its family heritage and, in particular, to Venancio Botran. To mark the year of his birth, 1893, this edition has been limited to just 1,893 bottles worldwide. The name ‘Infinito’ draws on the symbol of infinity and represents the continuous evolution of the Guatemalan rum tradition. This exclusive Guatemalan rum is produced from pure sugarcane honey, an aromatic base that is central to the typical Botran style. The striking octagonal bottle also emphasises the exceptional quality of this edition, making Botran Infinito Limited Edition Rum an expressive collector’s item.

Botran INFINITO owes its exceptional depth to an elaborate, dynamic ageing process, in which rums from the exclusive family reserve, aged between 12 and 25 years, are blended together. An exceptional feature is the ageing process across eight different types of cask: ex-American whisky casks, medium-toasted ex-whisky casks, as well as former sherry, port, Amarone, Sauternes, Ribera del Duero and Marsala wine casks. This exceptional variety of casks makes the Botran Rum, with its eight different cask maturations, one of the house’s most ambitious bottlings. At 43% ABV and presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box, the Infinito combines long maturation, a carefully selected range of casks and Guatemalan craftsmanship to create a particularly exclusive edition for connoisseurs of complex premium rums.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany with reddish and golden highlights.

Nose: Intense, with notes of maple syrup, cherries, raisins and chocolate, accompanied by dates and a hint of cinnamon.

Palate: Full-bodied with maple sweetness and dark chocolate, complemented by light citrus notes and toasted wood.

Finish: Long-lasting and complex with toasted wood, maple and a subtle, lingering spiciness.

The Botran INFINITO Ron de Guatemala best reveals its complex character when enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C or over a large ice cube. Matured hard cheeses, roasted nuts, duck breast or slow-braised beef pair particularly well with its pronounced oak character. For desserts, dark chocolate, cherry desserts, date pastries or caramel creations harmonise beautifully with the sweet and spicy notes. For cocktails, we recommend no more than a very light rum Old Fashioned, so that the intricate ageing process in eight different types of cask remains the centre of attention.
