For this special bottling, St. Kilian has opted for a sophisticated blend of ex-Tawny port casks, ex-sweet wine casks and virgin oak casks. The port casks lend the whisky a depth of dark fruit and an elegant structure, whilst the sweet wine casks provide a creamy honeyed sweetness and a velvety body. Virgin oak casks contribute intense vanilla aromas and spicy oak notes, forming the characteristic backbone of this whisky. The result is an unpeated single malt whisky with a robust 46% alcohol content, which impresses with its complexity, rich bouquet and exceptional balance.
