The vineyards are situated on dry, loamy and calcareous soils in the hills of Veneto, where the Mediterranean climate, with its warm summers and mild winters, provides ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen.


What makes this Ripasso red wine special is the traditional Ripasso method. After the first fermentation, the young wine is left to ferment for around 20 days on the still-warm pomace left over from Amarone production. This gives the wine additional structure, concentration and aromatic depth. The Zenato Ripassa 2021 is then aged for 24 months in French barriques and released after a further six months of bottle ageing. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., this premium red wine from Italy is powerful, harmonious and elegant. The combination of intense fruit, subtle spice and a supple structure makes it a prime example of the high quality of the Valpolicella region.

Tasting Note

On the nose, intense aromas of black cherries and ripe plums unfold, accompanied by spicy notes, rum-soaked fruit, subtle toasty aromas and delicate hints of vanilla. On the palate, this blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta is juicy, supple and superbly structured, with dense fruit, nuances of coffee, liquorice and almonds, and perfectly integrated tannins. The finish is elegant, complex and exceptionally long-lasting.
