The historic Springbank Distillery is one of Scotland’s last fully independently run distilleries and is renowned worldwide for its uncompromising craftsmanship. Every stage of production – from malting a portion of the barley through to distillation and bottling – takes place directly at the distillery in Campbeltown. The 12 Years Old Cask Strength is matured in a carefully curated combination of selected casks and is then bottled at cask strength. Springbank consistently avoids chill filtration and artificial colourings, ensuring the whisky retains its natural colour as well as all its valuable oils and aromas. Due to this unadulterated bottling, a slight natural cloudiness may form at low temperatures, which disappears completely at room temperature – a hallmark of authentic, non-chill-filtered whiskies.
