The Glenlivet FOUNDER’S RESERVE Sélection de Fûts de Chêne Américain is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, 40 per cent ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. This bottling was created as a tribute to George Smith, the founder of The Glenlivet Distillery, and embodies the distillery’s signature smooth and fruity whisky style. The Founder’s Reserve carries no age statement and is blended from carefully selected single malts. A key factor in its character is the maturation in American oak casks, including first-fill American oak casks that have not previously been used to mature Scotch whisky.


The Glenlivet Distillery looks back on a history dating back to 1824, when George Smith was granted a licence to produce whisky legally. Today, The Glenlivet is one of the best-known names internationally for single malt whisky from Speyside. Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold.

Nose: Fresh and fruity with citrus, sweet orange and subtle hints of vanilla.

Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with orange, pear, sweet fruit, vanilla and subtle oak notes.

Finish: Medium-length, smooth and pleasant with fruity and slightly sweet accents.

The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve is particularly enjoyable neat, on the rocks or with a few drops of water, and its approachable style also makes it ideal for a classic whisky highball. It pairs well with smoked salmon, grilled poultry or mild cheeses, as these do not overpower the fruity single malt. Suitable sweet accompaniments include apple or pear desserts, shortbread, and desserts featuring vanilla or almonds. This makes the Founder’s Reserve ideal both as an aperitif and for a relaxed evening of whisky, or as a light finish to a meal.
