The GlenDronach House Editions The Sevillian Room is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky that combines the GlenDronach Distillery’s traditional expertise in sherry cask maturation with a tribute to the Spanish city of Seville. This expression is part of the GlenDronach House Editions launched in 2026, which were developed to mark the distillery’s 200th anniversary. Master Blender Rachel Barrie spent around two years working on the new series. For The Sevillian Room, Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and Palo Cortado sherry casks are combined. It is the additional influence of Palo Cortado in particular that gives this edition its special character and reflects Seville’s close connection to Andalusian sherry culture.

The Sevillian Room is designed as a permanent release for the global travel retail market and is available at 43 per cent in a generous 1-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The inspiration ranges from Seville’s orange trees and sun-drenched squares to the city’s Moorish-influenced architecture. At the same time, The GlenDronach’s signature style is preserved, with maturation in various sherry casks playing a central role. Furthermore, the whisky is bottled without chill filtration. The combination of Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Palo Cortado sherry casks, its Highland heritage and exclusive focus on the travel retail market makes The Sevillian Room a unique interpretation of the classic The GlenDronach Sherry Cask Single Malt.

Tasting Note

Colour: Ochre-coloured gold with warm highlights.

Nose: Aromatic and complex, with Seville oranges and flowering honeysuckle, accompanied by toasted oak, aged leather and Mediterranean spices.

Palate: Full-bodied with Manuka honey, toasted nuts and subtle notes of tostada, followed by blood orange marmalade and warming cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting with orange peel, toasted nuts and spices, as well as a subtle hint of café con leche.

The GlenDronach The Sevillian Room is best enjoyed neat at room temperature to allow the distinct influences of the three types of sherry cask to unfold fully. It pairs well with roasted almonds and walnuts, Manchego, dark chocolate or desserts featuring orange and cinnamon. Its fruity, nutty character also makes it a perfect accompaniment to crème brûlée or a chocolate dessert with orange zest.
