For the 2025 vintage, the Viña Esmeralda is made from 100 per cent Moscatel de Alejandría, a grape variety renowned for its distinctive aromas and Mediterranean character. The grapes are grown in suitable vineyards across Catalonia, with the wine’s connection to the Penedès region and the Mediterranean climate playing a key role in its origins. Viña Esmeralda was originally created on the initiative of Miguel Torres, who, after completing his studies in oenology, wanted to develop a particularly aromatic, approachable white wine with a finely balanced sweetness. The wine owes its name to the emerald-green hue of the Mediterranean Sea.
