For the Distiller’s Edition 2026, The Illusionist moves away from the mythologically inspired themes of previous editions and turns its attention to the age-old cinema dilemma: sweet or savoury popcorn. The SALTY Edition combines the characteristic Mediterranean botanicals of The Illusionist Dry Gin with popcorn, toasted butter, sea salt and roasted almonds. This creates an unusual flavour profile, in which the spicy, Mediterranean gin base is complemented by deliberately savoury components. The Cinema Edition SALTY is bottled at 45 per cent ABV in a 0.5-litre bottle.


The concept behind The Cinema Edition 2026 follows the philosophy of the annual Distiller’s Edition, in which the Master Distiller is granted extensive creative freedom. For 2026, two distinct interpretations of classic cinema popcorn have been created: SWEET and SALTY. Only 1,234 bottles of the SALTY Edition are available, making it particularly appealing to collectors of previous Illusionist Distiller’s Editions. The elaborately designed bottle features three-dimensional artwork that reveals its special visual effect when viewed through the included 3D glasses. The presentation is complemented by a curated recipe booklet and detailed tasting notes. The combination of a limited edition, exceptional botanicals and an interactive bottle design makes this 45% dry gin, infused with popcorn, sea salt and roasted almonds, a truly unique special edition.

Nose: Toasted cinema popcorn and fragrant almonds, accompanied by warm butter, savoury pastries and the Mediterranean botanicals of the distinctive Illusionist gin base.

Palate: Robust, full-bodied and unusually savoury, with toasted almonds, brown butter and sea salt, embedded within the distinct juniper and botanical profile of Illusionist Dry Gin.

Finish: Complex, dry and long-lasting, with salted nuts, savoury notes and a crisp, spicy juniper finish.

Thanks to its savoury profile, The Illusionist Cinema Edition SALTY 2026 is ideal for a dry gin and tonic made with high-quality, preferably neutral tonic water, so that the flavours of popcorn, almonds and sea salt are not masked.
