Description
Ocucaje Pisco Quebranta Gota Perú 40% ABV 0.7l
Ocucaje Pisco Quebranta Gota Perú is a traditional Pisco Puro from Peru, distilled by Viña Ocucaje S.A. from the fermented must of the Quebranta grape. This grape variety is one of the most important for Peruvian pisco production and is mainly cultivated in the country’s dry coastal regions. The name ‘Quebranta’ is associated with the Spanish word ‘quebrar’, meaning ‘to break’, and refers to the heavy crop of grapes, which can cause the vine branches to snap. As a Pisco Puro Quebranta, this bottling focuses on a single grape variety, thereby expressing its distinctive character particularly clearly. The production of pisco has a centuries-old tradition in Peru and is based on the distillation of fermented grape must.
Ocucaje Pisco Quebranta is available in a 0.7-litre bottle with an alcohol content of 40 per cent and combines traditional Peruvian distilling culture with versatile uses at the bar. Viña Ocucaje is one of the established producers in the historic wine and pisco region of Ica, whose dry climate is closely linked to viticulture and pisco production. The hardy Quebranta grape plays a central role here and is used in numerous classic Peruvian piscos. Thanks to its structure and versatility, the Pisco Puro Quebranta from Peru is ideal both for sampling the grape variety neat and as a base for traditional cocktails. Pisco Sour, Chilcano and various Macerados are among the classic ways to enjoy it.
Tasting Note
Colour: Clear.
Nose: Distinctive exotic fruit aromas and delicate floral notes, clear and inviting.
Palate: Silky, light and fruit-driven, with exotic fruits and delicate floral accents.
Finish: Medium-length and fruity, with a harmonious continuation of the fresh fruit aromas.
Ocucaje Pisco Quebranta Gota Perú is particularly well-suited as the base for a classic Pisco Sour made with pisco, lime juice, sugar syrup, egg white and cocktail bitters. It can also be served traditionally as a Chilcano with ginger ale, lime and ice, or used in aromatic macerados. When enjoyed neat, a serving temperature of around 16–18 °C is recommended, whilst cocktails should be served well chilled. Thanks to its fruity and floral character, this pisco also pairs well with ceviche, light fish dishes and other Peruvian specialities.
