The Tschida Angerhof BA Beerenauslese red 2025 is an Austrian red Prädikat wine from Burgenland, blended from Merlot, Rösler and Zweigelt grapes. As a Beerenauslese, it ranks amongst the high-quality Prädikat wines and combines the exceptional ripeness of the grapes used with the distinctive character of a red cuvée. The wine is produced by the Angerhof Tschida in Illmitz, whose home region on Lake Neusiedl is renowned for the production of concentrated sweet and Prädikat wines. The combination of the international Merlot variety with the well-established Austrian varieties Rösler and Zweigelt lends this red Beerenauslese an interesting stylistic foundation. With an alcohol content of just 8 per cent, the 2025 vintage also boasts a comparatively moderate alcohol level.

The vinification of the Tschida Angerhof Beerenauslese red 2025 focuses on clear and unadulterated ageing. The cuvée is fermented in stainless-steel tanks and subsequently aged in steel tanks as well, thereby completely avoiding ageing in wooden barrels. The compact 0.375 l bottle is in keeping with the traditional use of a high-quality dessert and Prädikat wine and is ideal for sharing to round off a meal. Through its blend of Beerenauslese, Merlot, Rösler and Zweigelt, the Angerhof Tschida offers an exceptional alternative to classic white Beerenauslese wines. It is suitable both for special occasions and as a versatile accompaniment to selected savoury and sweet dishes.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Tschida Angerhof BA Beerenauslese red 2025 displays a vibrant red colour with darker highlights. On the nose, pronounced red berry notes and juicy cherries unfold, accompanied by a subtle hint of chocolate. On the palate, this Beerenauslese is juicy and approachable, whilst a lively acidity, subtle tannins and a vibrant freshness provide balance and structure. The finish is fruit-driven, well-balanced and pleasantly lingering.

The Tschida Angerhof Beerenauslese red is an excellent choice with pan-fried foie gras and braised plums, where the fruit’s sweetness and acidity provide an intriguing contrast to the rich dish. It is also recommended with Comté accompanied by autumnal nuts and other savoury cheeses. For dessert, it pairs particularly well with gingerbread and fruit glazes, as well as with desserts based on dark berries or cherries. The ideal serving temperature is 10–12 °C.
