Jameson TRIPLE TRIPLE Marsala Cask Irish Whiskey is a travel-exclusive release from the long-established Irish brand Jameson, continuing the Triple-Triple concept with a special Sicilian cask component. As is characteristic of Jameson Whiskey, the whiskies used are triple-distilled. For this edition, there is also a maturation or blending process incorporating influences from three different types of cask: classic bourbon casks, sherry casks and limited-edition, carefully selected Marsala casks from Sicily. It is the Marsala casks in particular that enhance the familiar Jameson style with additional fruity, nutty and spicy notes. ‘Triple Triple’ thus represents the combination of triple distillation and triple cask influence.

Jameson Triple Triple Marsala Cask is part of an internationally oriented range in which different cask types and wine traditions are integrated into the well-known Jameson style. The use of Marsala casks draws on the time-honoured production of this Sicilian fortified wine and complements the bourbon and sherry cask notes with a distinctive Mediterranean element. With an alcohol content of 40 per cent and a generous 1-litre bottle, this edition has been specially designed for the travel retail sector. The Jameson Triple Triple Marsala Cask 1 l thus combines Irish whisky tradition, triple distillation and the influence of three different cask types to create a distinctive special edition within the Jameson range.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Fresh and lively with dried apricots, banana and kiwi, complemented by spicy forest notes, walnuts, sweet vanilla and caramelised brown sugar.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied with toffee-apple, vanilla and chocolate-coated walnuts, accompanied by exotic fruits, subtle ginger spice and soft oak tannins.

Finish: Long-lasting and balanced, with the fruit and oak slowly fading whilst a gentle spiciness lingers right to the end.

Jameson Triple Triple Marsala Cask is best enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C, on the rocks or as the base for premium Irish whisky long drinks. Its fruity, nutty character pairs well with mature Cheddar, walnuts and mild prosciutto, as well as desserts featuring apple, apricot, vanilla or dark chocolate. In an Irish whisky highball with soda and a twist of orange, the distinctive influence of the Marsala cask remains clearly discernible.
