Description
Tenjaku 12-Year-Old Blended Whisky, Mizunara Cask, 43% vol., 0.7 l, in a gift box online kaufen
Tenjaku 12 Years Blended Whisky Mizunara Cask 43% is a Japanese blended whisky that combines at least 12 years’ maturation with the distinctive influence of Mizunara oak. The Tenjaku brand is based in the Japanese prefecture of Yamanashi at the foot of Mount Fuji, a region renowned for its natural water resources. In a blended whisky, malt and grain whiskies are blended together to achieve a balanced and harmonious overall character. In this bottling, the focus is not only on the long maturation period but, in particular, on the influence of Japanese Mizunara oak. This rarely used type of oak holds a special place in the world of whisky and can impart complex woody, spicy and aromatic-spicy nuances to the distillate.
With an alcohol content of 43 per cent, the Tenjaku 12 Years Mizunara Cask offers a balanced combination of maturity, structure and cask character. The maturation period of at least twelve years ensures depth and a harmonious integration of the various whisky components, whilst the influence of the Mizunara cask lends the blend a distinctive Japanese cask character. Ripe fruit and vanilla notes meet spicy oak and delicately aromatic woody nuances. The combination of 12-year-old blended whisky and Mizunara cask makes this Tenjaku bottling particularly appealing to connoisseurs of Japanese-style cask maturations. The whisky is presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box, which emphasises its high-quality nature and suitability as a gift.
Tasting Note
Colour: Warm gold to amber with coppery highlights.
Nose: Harmonious and complex, with ripe fruit, vanilla and delicate spices, accompanied by aromatic oak and subtle sweet, woody nuances.
Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with ripe fruit, vanilla and a gentle malty sweetness, complemented by spicy Mizunara oak and subtly tart woody notes.
Finish: Long-lasting and elegant with warm spice, vanilla and aromatic oak, which lingers slowly and harmoniously.
The Tenjaku 12 Years Blended Whisky Mizunara Cask is best enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C and can be diluted with a few drops of still water if desired. Mature hard cheeses, toasted almonds and walnuts pair well with its spicy, woody character. Dark chocolate and desserts featuring vanilla, pear, honey or caramelised nuts also complement the whisky’s softer notes. Thanks to the distinctive influence of the Mizunara cask, this bottling is also well-suited to comparative tastings of Japanese whiskies matured in different cask types.
