Bruichladdich MICRO-PROVENANCE Single Cask #0715 Islay Single Malt 57.5% vol. 0.7l online kaufen
The Bruichladdich MICRO-PROVENANCE Single Cask #0715 Islay Single Malt 57.5% ABV epitomises the experimental approach to provenance underpinning the Micro-Provenance Series from the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay. The series specifically examines how individual factors such as barley variety, growing region, climate, humidity, distillation, cask type, maturation period and storage location influence the character of a single malt. For this strictly limited edition, the Odyssey barley variety was used and the distillate was distilled on 13 May 2014. The whisky then spent its entire eleven-year maturation period in a first-fill bourbon cask that had previously contained bourbon whisky. Cask #0715 was stored in Warehouse WHSC4 at position 28E, meaning that the specific maturation location also forms part of the provenance concept.
On 30 March 2026, the Bruichladdich Single Cask #0715 was finally bottled at a robust 57.5% ABV. Only 246 bottles were produced from this single cask, making this a remarkably small and exclusive edition. Bruichladdich has opted not to use chill filtration or colouring, so that both the colour and texture derive directly from the distillate, the cask and the maturation process. The first-fill bourbon cask enhances the characteristic Islay single malt with notes of vanilla, citrus, grain and subtle oak spice, without masking the distillery’s distinctive character. In the 0.7-litre bottle, the Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance 11 Years Old thus combines rigorous provenance research, single-cask maturation and natural bottling to offer a particularly authentic insight into the individual character of a single Bruichladdich cask.
Tasting Note
Colour: Natural gold with light amber highlights.
Nose: Fresh and crisp with vanilla, citrus zest and delicate cereal notes, accompanied by gentle oak and malty accents.
Palate: Powerful and well-structured with creamy vanilla, malt and light fruit, complemented by spicy oak and a subtle sweetness from the bourbon cask.
Finish: Long-lasting and dry-spicy with vanilla, malt, delicate citrus freshness and lingering oak.
The Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance Single Cask #0715 should initially be tasted neat at room temperature in a nosing glass, so that the influence of the individual bourbon cask is revealed in its purest form. At 57.5% ABV, a few drops of still water can bring out additional notes of fruit, malt and vanilla. In terms of food pairings, mature hard cheeses, smoked salmon, roasted almonds or white poultry complement the clear bourbon cask structure well. Vanilla biscuits, lemon cake or desserts with almonds also harmonise beautifully with the light, sweet and spicy cask notes.
