The Redbreast IBERIAN SERIES Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey MOSCATEL WINE CASK 46% vol. combines the traditional style of Redbreast with the distinctive influence of selected Moscatel wine casks. As a Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, this bottling is based on a combination of malted and unmalted barley typical of Ireland and is triple-distilled, resulting in a particularly smooth base. For this edition of the Redbreast Iberian Series, the matured whisky is then finished in carefully selected Moscatel wine casks. The sweet and aromatic qualities of the Moscatel wine complement the spicy pot-still character without overpowering it. The bottling thus combines classic Irish whisky tradition with a distinctly Mediterranean-inspired cask finish.


At 46% ABV, the Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask has sufficient strength to clearly express both the characteristic pot-still spice and the influence of the Moscatel cask maturation. This edition forms part of the Iberian Series, through which Redbreast highlights different cask types from the Iberian Peninsula and deliberately refines its renowned house style. The combination of triple distillation, classic single pot-still production and a final Moscatel finish lends the whisky additional depth and a distinctive place within the Redbreast range. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold to amber.

Nose: Fresh and sweet with orange zest, rich vanilla oak and a subtle hint of nutmeg.

Palate: Rich and lively with juicy fruit, toffee and honeycomb, accompanied by dried herbs and spicy forest notes.

Finish: Long-lasting with characteristic pot-still spice and a delicate, lingering note of mature oak.

The Redbreast Iberian Series Moscatel Wine Cask reveals its multi-layered character particularly well when enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a few drops of still water. It pairs well with mature hard cheeses, roasted almonds or air-dried ham, which complement its spicy and slightly sweet cask profile very well. For a sweet finish, orange tart, honey biscuits, toffee desserts or almond cake harmonise particularly well with the Moscatel influences. In a nosing glass, the citrus, honey and spicy notes can develop particularly beautifully.
