Talisker 10 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 45.8% ABV, is one of the best-known bottlings from the historic Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery was founded in 1830 and is situated in Carbost on the rugged west coast of the Scottish island, whose maritime character has shaped the brand’s style for generations. This 10-year-old Isle of Skye single malt is matured predominantly in American oak casks, including ex-bourbon casks, combining robust peaty smoke with salty, peppery and fruity notes. With its characteristic 45.8% ABV, the whisky is expressive and well-structured, whilst the long maturation period lends the smoky distillate additional depth and balance.

Typical of the Talisker 10 Years Old is the striking combination of maritime smoke, black pepper, malty sweetness and ripe fruit, which clearly distinguishes it from softer Highland or Speyside styles. The powerful island character is underpinned by an oily texture, subtle sweetness and a long, spicy-smoky finish. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold.

Nose: Intense and maritime, with peaty smoke, sea salt and ripe fruit, accompanied by a delicate malty sweetness and spicy notes.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied with smoke, black pepper, malt and sweet fruit, complemented by salty and slightly oily notes.

Finish: Long-lasting, warming and peppery with robust smoke, maritime spice and a delicate sweetness.

The Talisker 10 Years Old is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature, when its smoky, peppery and coastal notes come through particularly clearly. A few drops of still water can further bring out the fruity and malty facets, whilst the accompanying tumbler is also suitable for enjoying the whisky over a large ice cube. Culinary pairings include smoked salmon, strong hard cheese, grilled meat or oysters. Dark chocolate with sea salt also complements the combination of smoke, sweetness and maritime spice very well.
